To become an Enviroweek Green Team you register your class to take on a challenge, get sponsored by your friends and fundraise for your school’s green project. It’s that simple.
Enviroweek began in 2009 with around 200 people taking on an environmental challenge. In 2011 there were over than 58,000 students participating across Australia. Cool Australia has raised more than $260,000 for environmental projects around Australia.
It’s all about taking on a challenge that suits your class, having fun during Enviroweek and getting into good habits for the rest of the year.
Creating A Green Future – What will your Enviroweek Challenge be?
1. SAY NO TO WASTE
- Nude food days
- Avoid single use packaging
- Create a compost bin
- Start a worm farm
2. REFUSE, REDUCE, REUSE AND RECYCLE
- buy only what you need
- Do more with less
- Give things another go
- Turn things into something else
3. GROW YOUR OWN
- Start your own food garden
- If you already have a food garden have a Enviroweek celebration lunch
4. PEOPLE POWER
- Ride, walk to school
- Start a waking bus
5. GO BUSH
- Build nesting boxes for the native animals that live at your school
- Have an excursion to learn more about the benefits of planting native Australian species
6. CHOOSE YOUR OWN
- It’s time to get create and design your own green challenge for Enviroweek 2012

All funds raised for Cool Australia Trust will be used to:
- Provide for free high quality learning activities on our environment for Australian teachers and students.
