Our Story So Far…

We will be ‘trashing’ and crunching the numbers to see just how big our everyday impact is.

Our objective is to provide children with opportunities to engage with the natural environmental through a variety of modes. We will endeavour to foster within students care and concern for the world we live in and enable them to transfer this knowledge to their formal schooling as “emergent environmentalism”. Help children to separate their lunch and playground waste into recycling, chicken food and garbage. Through intentional teaching get children to begin to think about “Rubbish” which is made from valuable resources for example trees (i.e. paper). Teachers will explicitly teach children to become familiar with recycle symbols on packaging and other products. Recognise ‘being’ forms the foundations of what they ‘become’, children’s ability to be competent learners and developing a sense of self through their interactions with nature. To develop an appreciation and relationships with our natural environment and to engage students in understand the meaning of sustainability practices.
