Our Story So Far…

We are eating fresh and healthy.

Each class (P-6) has been challenged to create a healthy dip using ingredients from the school garden. Classes will experiment to create the perfect dip in readiness for judging day on Wednesday August 27th. Each class will make and present their dip, its recipe and give a short talk about what they used and how they made it. A special judging panel will taste each dip and give it a score. An award will be presented to the winning class. Latrobe Primary School encourages sustainability across all grades. There is a main garden maintained by the Green Team as well as several smaller gardens in the Kindergartens. Recycling is separated from landfill, vegetable and fruit leftovers are added to worm farms, compost bins or fed to the chickens. Our "Powerlighters' team monitors power usage across the school and Rubbish-Free Lunches are encouraged with participants rewarded. Nude Food days are held regularly with staff cooking with their classes using school grown ingredients where possible.
