Room 5 Greenies Alive
We will swap instead of shop to reduce our waste.
Newspapers are shredded, soaked, paper drained, placed in brick moulds, water squeezed out, dried out and then used in fires as fire starters.
We are collecting old tea cups and saucers and planting small succulent gardens which use minimal water. Students look for cups and saucers when on community activities in op shops. Pay minimal amounts for them. The "gardens" are sold within the school-to students and staff.
Turn off lights within school when they are unecessarily left on such as empty classrooms or corridors.
Spending an hour outside and switching off the classroom saves 230 CO2e-kgs a year from being released into the atmosphere.
WE ARE CELEBRATING ENVIROWEEK
We are writing stories to share with local early childhood children.
