Our Story So Far…
SRC students are going to set up new bins around the primary school to help promote recycling - aiming to minimise waste products around the yard. F-6 classes will participate in Waste Free Wednesdays - reducing the amount of waste that is brought to school in lunchboxes. Students will look at alternative types of packaging ('nude' food), learn about the impact their waste has on the environment and aim to reduce the amount of waste brought to school by the end of the term. Junior Primary classes will continue to remain 'binless' in their classrooms and improve on their composting and recycling abilities with the help of new signs and charts. Another Junior Primary class will investigate ways of reducing the amount of water we use, and look at ways that we can be water wise in our school. They will research where water goes when it leaves our drains and the impact it may be having on our environment. Music students will have fun and learn how to re-use materials by making musical instruments out of plastic bottles.
