Our Story So Far…
All staff and children will be focusing on one nominated area each day, working above and beyond our current great environmental practices.
Monday will be our Waste Warrior Day. We will be using all recyclable products for art & craft and monitoring water wastage( check children turning off taps & educating). Our babies room will be using recyclable cartons, packets etc. for a shop experience and the kitchen will be focusing on cooking with unpackaged foods. Tuesday is our Green Thumb Day. We will be harvesting food from our garden to use in our meals and planting plants and grass seeds in all empty pots and spaces. We will be purchasing a rain gauge to check when gardens need water. Also getting our worm farm working again. Babies room will be making a mini garden in an old wooden trolley. Wednesday is our Foodie Day. The kitchen will be using fresh, unprocessed foods to make meals, including food from our veggie garden. Children will be encouraged to drink all their water and put any leftover onto garden. They will be encouraged to finish all their food on their plates with no wastage. Thursday is our Sparky Day. All heaters will be turned off with children wearing layers. Kinder room will be using candles instead of turning on lights and clothes dryer will be restricted. Children will be educated on electricity wastage etc. Friday will be our Wild Child Day. Our children will enjoy an outside Mud experience and the yard will be set up with extra challenges etc.The Kinder children will be going on an excursion to the park next door.
