Our Story So Far…

To decrease our paper waste by recycling excess cardboard rolls into biodegradable capsules that hold composting worms and to share them with the wider community.

Our goal is to help our school reduce its paper & cardboard waste by turning cardboard rolls into biodegradable vessels that will house composting worms. Our worm farm breeds an astonishing amount of worms and we would like to share them with the wider community, whilst decreasing our paper waste! 2ltr milk bottles are also collected by students and filled with "Worm Wee' the liquid by-product of the worm farm and used as a natural fertilizer for all fruit and vegetables in our schools garden. Environmental & Gardening Club students take a very active roll in making sure their paper waste is accounted for, classroom compost buckets are emptied daily and that the worm farm and composting systems are functioning at their best. The community can take home our 100% school made 'Worm Bombs' and 'Worm Wee' and use them at home, they are available from our Green Thumbs stall at the schools Farmers Market.
