Our Story So Far…

Researching sustainability practices through school and home audits and building the most environmentally friendly cubby house using the knowledge we gain.

At Woady Yaloak Scarsdale Campus we have a strong history of sustainable practices with student led waste minimisation strategies, recycled gardens and paddock to the plate cooking programs.
To help celebrate Enviro Week an Inquiry into sustainability has already begun. Students have divided into 5 sustainability expert groups to research the way we can be more sustainable members of our community. The teams will identify a checklist in order to audit school and home sustainability practices. Using this data they will make suggestions as to how our school can become more sustainable and develop drawings models and recommendations to school council. In addition they will be putting their suggestions into action by building a cubby house in the playground to showcase their suggestions. Expert areas include water, waste, biodiversity, travel and energy.
The whole journey, including recommendations, will be shared with our other 3 campuses at a joint sustainability expo at the end of term 3.
