Our Story So Far…
Making connecting with the environment, as we use our senses to listen, feel, taste and touch all of the elements nature has to offer.
We have been learning about reducing our waste, recycling and reusing resources. The teachers visited the reverse garbage depot recently and returned with resources from factories, that would have been thrown away. We are using these resources in the centre for craft projects and art. We have planted a bush tucker garden and we use water from our tank to water the garden and nutrients from our worm castings to provide nutrients for the garden. The children are involved in saving their food scraps for the worms and then pouring the worm castings on the gardens as well as watering the garden. We are in the process of designing a natural outdoor play space and hoping to raise some money from our enviroweek challenge to help fund the project.
