At our center, we have a garden out the back which the children attend to at least once a week. We have been planting different fruits, vegetable and herbs. We have an aquaponics system set up so the children can see how the different growing environments, varies the rate that the foods grow at. We have two worm farms, where the children put scraps and we then collect the worm we and use it as fertilizer on our plants. Finally we have chickens in our garden, which the kids save their afternoon tea scraps for and feed to them daily. They are in charge of checking the chickens drinking water and collecting their eggs.

We are being sustainable by feeding our scraps to the chickens and animals and using our grown vegetables and chicken eggs in our cooking.

We are sharing photos and stories at our center for our families and local community to see.
