Eastwood Primary School
Eastwood Garden Greenies
We will reduce our waste and set up recycling systems.
Over the week we have begun our green waste collection throughout the school. Most goes into the new compost bays but some goes to feed our new chooks and worms.
This week we have planted seeds in our mini greenhouses, ready to plant out next term. We also mulched all of our veggie beds in readiness for the warmer weather. Our other work has been making teepee frames for our snowpeas to grow on and planting some raspberries and perennial basil.
We enjoyed the sunshine and ate our pasta meal that we had prepared from scratch outside in our new recycled tyre seats and tables.
Eating locally grown food or food from our garden is good for us and the environment. It’s fresh, ripe and doesn’t need to travel.
WE ARE CELEBRATING ENVIROWEEK
We are cooking fresh food from our garden.
