KIDZ MAD (Making A Difference!)
The grade one students are looking at making a difference in our school in four ways. 1. We are investigating animal habitats and creating a lizard lounge with a garden habitat! 2. We are educating students about the impact of litter upon our school environment and animal habitats. 3. We are creating a vertical garden and quiet space. 4. We are planting a new garden to form the beginning of a new habitat within our school, for birds, insects and other small animals. Through our INQUIRY we are investigating the world around us, learning about the common needs of all living things and the impact of humans on our environment and animal habitats. We are KIDZ and we are MAD - making a difference! We may be small but we have big voices! We will learn and then teach others about what we have discovered.
The students in this group are concerned primarily about the amount of rubbish in our environment; namely our school, the local animal habitats (especially the local creek) and the world in general. They want to challenge people about their littering and educate them about the impact of their littering upon our environment. Ultimately they want to stop people from throwing rubbish and ruining our world.
