Our Story So Far…

We will be running a Kids Teaching Kids day at Bendigo Creek where our students will teach other students about environmental management with practical activities.

Children will be at the very heart of this project. It's core focus is a day planned and run by kids, for kids. Huntly PS students will work in small groups as a team experts in one of eleven hands-on on-ground environmental sustainability activities. They will host students from Epsom and Goornong Primary Schools as they rotate through each activity. An adult will support each group, but it's the students who will be responsible for conveying content in an engaging, effective way and providing opportunities for active involvement. Activities will include treeplanting, habitat surveys, plant identification, indigenous heritage, birdwatching, stormwater education, water quality testing, macroinvertebrate sampling, bug catching, nest box construction and frog awareness.
