Poowong Consolidated School
Our Story So Far…
The whole school is getting involved in a range or Enviroweek actions.
Preps - Investigate the energy involved in buying eggs from a supermarket compared to having our own chickens. Grade 1/2 - become a Wild Child learner and think about the impact of spending 15 minutes outside Grade 3/4 - put into action a battery recycling drive for our school Grade 4/5 - investigate how much water is wasted in our school (Bubble taps waste 800ml per minute of use) Grade 5/6 - develop some activities that require no or little energy for our 'Fresh for Spring Market Night' Green Team - install a timer on the staffroom urn because running it over night costs $1.20 per night (that's $438 per year) Art Class - 5 minute art from recycled printing Sustainability Rotations - Fathers Day cards made from home made seed paper. Whole School Community - Pozible Project - Pathways to Possibilities crowd funding $2500 to build a house for some chickens at school.
