East Hills Girls High School – Enviroment Committee
We are going to get crafty and up-cycle.
We are using old cups and pots and cuttings to create living succulent garden art to be showcased and sold at our school spring fair on 10th of September. This is a project done jointly with our two wonderful volunteers from Panania Free Rangers
We are setting up a vege patch at school. We have planted seeds and been watering the resultant seedlings in our greenhouse. The patch has been prepared by removing existing grass plants and laying down cardboard and mulch, to kill off grass, ready for the seedlings. This project has been undertaken with the guidance from our two lovely volunteers from Panania Free Rangers. The large grass plants have been replanted on a hillside to stop erosion and a very muddy path when it rains. We have also been nurturing our house garden which was setup last year. It contains plants from our four sports houses: Eucalyptus, Melaleuca, Banksia and Telopea.
