OUR ACTION

We use a recycling system – yellow bins for recycling, green for paper towels and some food scraps, a worm bin for the majority of food scraps. We encourage waste free lunches – food that is provided without packaging. We upcycle – we turn waste into art by re-using and upcycling. This year we are hosting a Swap Market – to encourage swapping instead of shopping. Switching our habits from shopping to swapping (or buying second hand goods) can make a difference – remember the item is still new to you!

OUR ACTION

We are in the process of turning our garden into an edible garden. Our citrus trees, planted last year, have been so successful we have been able to make our own marmalade to sell for $5 a jar.

OUR ACTION

We switch off electricity - when we are outside we switch off lights and climate control devices.

OUR ACTION

We use the outdoors as another classroom. We provide learning opportunities both indoors and outdoors to give our children more opportunity to fulfil their creative, imaginative and academic potential.

OUR IMPACT

Spending an hour outside and switching off the classroom saves 230 CO2e-kgs a year from being released into the atmosphere.
