Belle Vue Primary School
Belle Vue Primary School – Sustainability team
The whole school is getting involved in a range of Enviroweek actions.
Student signage and actions around the school designed to encourage Reduce, Rethink and Refuse actions as well as reuse and Recycle. This will be reflected in new signage and information provided to the whole school. We will be increasing the profile of waste free lunches using new student designed signage and discussing the action at whole school assemblies. We will also be holding an upcycling competition and increasing the items that are recycled throughout the school (such as toner cartridges/printer consumables and school uniforms).
We will be involved in caring for the garden such as weeding, mulching and planting some native grasses and shrubs to improve our understorey vegetation.
We will challenge all teachers to take their class outside for as much time as possible while turning off the big 3 (heating, lighting and ICT).
A packaged lunch box contains three pieces of waste. In a year that fills a 240-litre wheelie bin. We make a lot of waste!
WE ARE CELEBRATING ENVIROWEEK
We will have a special EnviroDay event that will promote Reduce, Rethink and Refuse (as well as Reuse and Recycle)
