Peregian Springs State School
We will continue to be the Compost Monitors for the school and to eat healthy fresh lunches and reduce our waste ,which goes to landfill.
We collect the fruit and vegetables scraps and other items which can be composted for the school each day. We have three compost bins and also a worm farm in our classroom. We only use reusable drink bottles and we have made a promise to reduce the waste in our lunch boxes, which will end up as landfill.
We help to make the compost which is used in the school vegetable garden. The vegetables grown are used in the school canteen.
We turn off the lights and fans when we are not in the room. We don't leave power points switched on if they are not in use.
One litre of bottle water is up to 2,500 the cost of tap water.
WE ARE CELEBRATING ENVIROWEEK
